About Eaton James
Eaton trained in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting, during which time he appeared in Man of La Mancha, Merrily We Roll Along, Joan of Arc and Kiss of the Spiderwoman.
After graduating he appeared in Aladdin, Anyone Can Whistle and as 'Bobby' in When Pigs Fly at the Arts Theatre, London.
Eaton then went on to play the part of 'Joseph' in a UK tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and played the part of 'Montparnasse' on the national tour of hit show Les Miserables.
He then landed the cover and lead roles in the touring production of Miss Saigon and the London smash hit, Pageant, before joining Les Miserables on the West End, in it's 21st anniversary year. Here he understudied and played the part of 'Enjolras' and 'Bamatabois'.
Eaton then landed his most well known role to date, that of 'Dirty Harry' in the musical Never Forget based on the music of Take That. Eaton created the role from the shows conception on the regional tour in 2007 and then went on to re-join the cast for a second regional tour and to the West End, when the show was given residency at the Savoy Theatre in May 2008.
After a successful run the show closed and Eaton went straight on to play 'Dandini' in pantomime Cinderella in Nottingham for the Christmas season 2008/9.
Eaton's other credits include working for Disney doing concerts in Europe, Encore - a theatre review show in Tokyo and concert shows Anyone can Whistle at the Savoy Theatre and The Celebrity Gala at the Chichester Festival Theatre. He has also appeared in several Television commercials and can be heard on the Sondheim Tonight CD.
Eaton's latest role is that of 'Boris' in operetta style musical Paradise Moscow (a version of Cheryomushki, Shoshtakovich's forgotten opera). Starting in April 2009 as part of the Leeds based Opera North 2009 season, Eaton plays the lead character opposite Summer Strallen. The show will play a residency at Leeds Grand Theatre and Opera House and undertake a short tour of the UK and a one off performance at the Bregenz Festival in Austria, over the summer. All show dates and more information can be found on the Diary section of this site.
